Here We Come

Let's Do This

It's the one week a year when the whole MEDITECH world gets together, and it's easily our favorite. We're excited to share what we've been working on and catch up with the people who make this work worth doing.

What We're Bringing to MUSE Inspire 2026

Three sessions, two days, and a whole lot of Power BI. We're heading to MUSE with two hands-on workshops led by our Business Intelligence Manager, Claire Wennberg, and a co-presented education session with our client Northfield Hospital on using predictive analytics to forecast hospital revenue. Whether you're new to Power BI or ready to sharpen your reporting game, there's something on the schedule worth your time. Use the menu to dig into each session, find our booth, and book time to connect.

MUSE Leadership Summit

From Cost Center to Strategic Asset: Proving Value in the Era of Data-Driven Healthcare

Healthcare organizations are under unprecedented pressure to demonstrate measurable value – clinically, operationally, and financially. For IT leaders, the conversation has shifted from innovation for innovation’s sake to defensible ROI, scalable impact, and sustainable transformation.

This leadership summit convenes healthcare and IT executives to explore how data can evolve from a reporting function into a true strategic asset. Through executive case studies, peer dialogue, and actionable frameworks, participants will examine how to quantify technology investments, align digital strategy with enterprise priorities, and build governance models that convert analytics into enterprise value.

Attendees will leave with practical approaches to proving impact, communicating ROI to boards and stakeholders, and positioning data as a driver of competitive advantage – not just operational support.

Power BI Fundamentals

Want to learn a better way to present information from MEDITECH Data Repository?

Come to our Tuesday Workshop to get immediate hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop. Power BI puts dynamic and interactive report design at your fingertips, making it easy to improve your business and clinical analytics with easy to use and cost-effective report design tools.

In this workshop, we’ll introduce you to the different desktop and cloud-based components of Microsoft’s business intelligence platform. Then we’ll dive in and show you how to build your own inpatient dashboard with Power BI Desktop while demonstrating some of the software’s niftier features – like slicers and drill-through capability – that will give your reports a great user experience.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop for real-time hands-on report building experience. (If you can’t, don’t worry, you can follow along as our instructors show you how.) When you’re finished, you’ll have a report you can use with your own MEDITECH Data Repository after you return home from the conference.

Power BI will impress you with its beautiful interface, instant performance, and deep ability to slice and dice your data any way you want – it’s unlike anything used until now for reporting from Data Repository. Don’t miss this fun and informative workshop!

Learning Objectives

01.

Attendees will gain an understanding of Power BI concepts and terminology while learning how to design reports with Power BI Desktop.

02.

Attendees will learn how to connect Power BI to the MEDITECH Data Repository

03.

Bring a laptop to gain first-hand knowledge of Power BI Desktop while they design their own report during the workshop.

The Art of Data – Intermediate Power BI

Ready to take your Power BI skills to the next level?

In this interactive workshop, we’ll move beyond the fundamentals and explore the intermediate concepts that transform good reports into powerful decision-making tools. Learn how to refine your data model, enhance performance, and design visuals that tell a compelling story – not just display numbers.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll move beyond the fundamentals and explore the intermediate concepts that transform good reports into powerful decision-making tools. Learn how to refine your data model, enhance performance, and design visuals that tell a compelling story – not just display numbers.

In this hands-on session, we’ll move beyond simple visuals and explore the techniques that transform good reports into powerful decision-making tools. Topics will include data modeling best practices, building meaningful relationships, creating more advanced DAX calculations, and designing reports that guide users naturally through the data. We’ll demonstrate how features like bookmarks, slicers, drill-throughs, and conditional formatting can create a more intuitive and interactive user experience.

We’ll also explore how Power BI can combine MEDITECH Data Repository data with additional sources – such as operational spreadsheets, financial data, or external benchmarks – to provide a more complete and actionable view of performance. Beyond functionality, we’ll introduce visualization best practices and design principles that improve clarity, usability, and executive-level impact.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop to follow along in real time as we enhance an existing dashboard and apply intermediate techniques. By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with practical skills and design strategies to elevate your reports from informative to insightful. Take your analytics further – and turn your data into insight.

Learning Objectives

01.

Strengthen their understanding of Power BI data modeling concepts.

02.

Learn intermediate DAX techniques for dynamic reporting.

03.

Apply advanced visualization strategies for better storytelling

04.

Use bookmarks, drill-through, and slicers to improve user experience

Predicting Hospital Revenue Using Operational & Clinical Patterns at Northfield Hospital + Clinics

Track | Business Intelligence, Quality Management and Reporting

We partnered to develop a predictive analytics solution that accurately forecasts hospital revenue using MEDITECH-derived operational and clinical data. By modeling time-series trends, surgery volumes, and stratified appointment patterns, the project significantly improved forecasting accuracy (R² = .884), enabling leadership to proactively plan staffing, budgeting, and service line strategies. This collaborative initiative demonstrates how MEDITECH hospitals can leverage modern predictive methods – integrated directly into Power BI – to enhance financial stability, operational decision-making, and long-term strategic planning.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Recognize how hospitals can use forecasting to improve financial planning, staffing decisions, and service line strategy.
• Apply a replicable framework for predictive analytics that can be adopted by other MEDITECH hospitals seeking to improve financial stability and operational visibility.
• Describe the benefits of a collaborative hospital–vendor approach to building, validating, and operationalizing predictive models.

Learning Objectives

01.

Strengthen their understanding of Power BI data modeling concepts.

02.

Learn intermediate DAX techniques for dynamic reporting.

03.

Apply advanced visualization strategies for better storytelling

04.

Use bookmarks, drill-through, and slicers to improve user experience

Education Session - 130

Meet Claire Wennberg

Business Intelligence Manager, Acmeware

Claire is leading all three of our MUSE 2026 sessions, and for good reason. With more than 15 years of healthcare experience across both acute and ambulatory settings, she's spent her career using data to make patient care better, not just measurable.
Her work centers on quality improvement, patient safety, and giving healthcare leaders the tools to actually use their data. She's deep in Power BI, including data modeling and visualization, and builds the kind of interactive dashboards that turn raw MEDITECH data into something a CFO or CNO can act on Monday morning.
Claire has led cross-functional projects to meet regulatory requirements, improve population health management, and strengthen patient experience. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Boston University and a master's degree in nursing from the University of New Hampshire.
If you're attending one of her sessions, come say hi.
