Everything you need to know about Acmeware's solutions, services, and how we work with MEDITECH hospitals.
Our solutions support any MEDITECH hospital globally. The majority of our current client base is US-based.
Yes. We offer live online training classes covering Data Repository, SQL Server, Power BI Fundamentals, and advanced report design. We also provide hands-on knowledge transfer as part of our service engagements.
Contact us for a conversation. We'll learn about your hospital's situation, priorities, and MEDITECH environment, then recommend the right combination of solutions and services.
The Partnership Program is a retainer-based engagement that gives your hospital access to Acmeware's full range of professional services. Hours can be applied to reporting, DBA services, data integration, quality support, or any other Data Repository need. It's flexible by design.
Most clients engage through our Partnership Program, which provides a recurring block of hours that can be applied to any combination of services month to month. We also offer project-based engagements, product subscriptions, and standalone professional services.
We support every MEDITECH platform generation including MAGIC, Client/Server, 6.0, 6.1, and Expanse. We also support locally hosted, remotely hosted, and MaaS (MEDITECH as a Service) environments.
Acmeware is a MEDITECH Alliance Collaborator with a long-standing partnership in the ecosystem. Our founder, Glen D'Abate, spent 13 years at MEDITECH and helped build the Data Repository application that our solutions are built on.
Acmeware was founded in 1998. We have spent nearly three decades focused exclusively on the MEDITECH ecosystem, serving 100+ hospitals across four countries.
We work with MEDITECH hospitals of all sizes, from critical access hospitals to multi-facility health systems. We also partner with healthcare technology vendors who need access to MEDITECH data to serve their hospital customers.
Acmeware provides analytics, reporting, data integration, and professional services exclusively for hospitals running the MEDITECH EHR. Every solution and service we offer is built on the MEDITECH Data Repository.
Acmeware clients consistently achieve MIPS scores at or above the 90th percentile through proactive monitoring and optimization throughout the reporting period.
Empower Quality embeds institutional knowledge into the platform itself through documented configurations, validated mappings, and standardized workflows. When staff transitions happen, the system and its documentation remain, reducing the ramp-up time for new team members.
Yes. Empower Quality is contracted under a separate agreement with its own pricing. It includes the quality reporting platform and 50 hours of services as one package.
The platform continues to operate independently for your team. When you need additional support for annual measure updates, staff transitions, or new program requirements, Acmeware's quality team is available through ongoing professional services engagements.
Empower Quality supports IQR (Inpatient Quality Reporting), OQR (Outpatient Quality Reporting), MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System), Promoting Interoperability, Joint Commission ORYX, and IPFQR (Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Quality Reporting).
The 50 hours cover Quality Vantage configuration, MEDITECH SQL script deployment, nomenclature mapping review and remediation, data validation and testing, platform configuration, and training for your quality team.
Empower is the analytics platform. Empower Quality is a specific package built for quality reporting that includes the platform plus 50 hours of dedicated quality services. The platform is pre-configured for quality measures, and the professional services ensure it's tailored to your specific programs, MEDITECH configuration, and clinical workflows.
Empower Quality is a turnkey solution that combines a pre-configured quality analytics platform built on Empower with 50 hours of professional services for configuration, mapping, validation, and training. It's designed to get your quality reporting fully operational and tailored to your hospital.
Yes. We offer an interactive self-demo that lets you explore a live Empower dashboard with MEDITECH data. No sales call required.
Every Empower engagement includes professional services for implementation and configuration. Ongoing professional services hours are highly recommended and available for continued customization, new data model development, and platform optimization.
Empower is licensed with an implementation fee and an annual subscription. It is an operational expense by default, with a capital expense option available.
Data governance establishes shared definitions for your data across the organization. When every department agrees on what terms like "patient," "length of stay," and "readmission" mean, your dashboards produce clarity instead of confusion. Acmeware builds data governance into every Empower engagement.
Yes. Empower works with all MEDITECH deployment models including locally hosted, remotely hosted, and MaaS (MEDITECH as a Service) environments.
Yes. Empower is built for self-service. Once the data models are in place, department analysts and power users can create their own reports and dashboards in Power BI without waiting on IT.
Empower runs on Microsoft Power BI, which your organization may already license. Power BI Pro starts at $10 per user per month from Microsoft. No additional analytics platform purchases are required.
Typical time from contract execution to production reports is 90 days. Most hospitals see initial insights within 30 days of data availability.
Empower is designed specifically for community MEDITECH hospitals. It uses Microsoft Power BI, which most hospitals already license, and comes with pre-built data models that work immediately. It has a lower total cost of ownership and a faster path to production dashboards compared to analytics tools designed for large academic medical centers.
Empower includes pre-built data models for Emergency Department, Revenue Cycle, Surgical Services, Supply Chain, Patient Visits, Orders, and Ambulatory Practice Management.
Empower is Acmeware's analytics and business intelligence platform built specifically for MEDITECH. It uses Microsoft Power BI with proprietary data models designed for the Data Repository, delivering interactive dashboards across seven hospital functional areas.
Yes. Downtime Defender has been used during planned downtimes that extended beyond schedule, cyber attacks, the 2024 CrowdStrike event, and natural disasters.
Implementation is fast. Acmeware handles the installation and configures your standard and custom report library based on your hospital's downtime procedures and clinical priorities.
Downtime Defender is licensed with an implementation fee and a fixed annual subscription. No variable costs. Available as an operational or capital expense.
Downtime Defender is purpose-built for MEDITECH and priced for community hospitals. It focuses on reliable, comprehensive report delivery through PDF snapshots with dual-storage redundancy. It is a cost-effective, low-complexity alternative to enterprise downtime platforms designed for larger organizations.
Yes. Downtime Defender meets the requirements of the CMS Safer Guide for contingency planning, providing your compliance team with a documented, testable downtime solution.
Downtime Defender generates fresh report snapshots on a continuous schedule so the data is always current when you need it. Refresh intervals are configurable to your hospital's requirements.
Reports are stored in two locations: locally on-premises and in the cloud. This dual-storage approach ensures access regardless of which parts of your infrastructure are affected during an outage.
The standard report library includes Patient Summary, Census by Location, Pharmacy MAR, MAR Summary, PCS Documentation, Lab Results, Orders, Scheduling, HR contacts, MM Vendors, Dietary, and a Report Status Dashboard. Custom reports are also available for hospital-specific downtime procedures.
Downtime can result from planned system updates and maintenance, network or power outages, ransomware attacks, natural disasters, or third-party incidents like the 2024 CrowdStrike event.
Downtime Defender is a secure downtime application and report delivery system built for the MEDITECH EHR. It produces scheduled report snapshots from your Data Repository and stores them locally and in the cloud so mission-critical patient data remains accessible during any downtime event.
Yes. ViewPoint separates the data by facility. Empower visualizes it. Together they give multi-hospital organizations a complete analytics stack with facility-level independence.
No. ViewPoint runs on your existing SQL Server infrastructure. Facility-level databases are compatible with any SQL Server reporting or analytics tool, including Empower, Power BI, SSRS, and others.
When multiple hospitals share a MEDITECH instance, every analyst works against a database containing data from every facility. This creates PHI privacy risk, HIPAA compliance complexity, and barriers to rolling out self-service analytics at individual hospitals.
ViewPoint continuously replicates data from your shared MEDITECH Data Repository into separate, facility-specific SQL Server databases. Each database contains only the records belonging to that facility.
ViewPoint is a data separation solution for healthcare organizations running multiple hospitals on a shared MEDITECH platform. It creates facility-specific SQL Server databases so each hospital's team can work with their own data independently.
Contact us to discuss a vendor partnership. We'll work with your team to define the data elements your product needs, the format you need them in, and how OneLink can connect your product to the MEDITECH market.
OneLink gives vendors a standardized path to MEDITECH data without building custom integrations with individual hospitals. This enables expanded product functionality, stronger market differentiation, and new revenue opportunities from premium features.
OneLink lets your third-party vendors access deeper MEDITECH data, which enables them to deliver expanded capabilities through tools your hospital already uses. It reduces IT burden since Acmeware manages the platform, and new vendor integrations can go live in as little as one day.
Active vendor partners include Torq Interface, OneMnet Health (Medical Passport), and STERIS Healthcare, with additional partnerships in development.
OneLink supports all MEDITECH platform versions from MAGIC through Expanse. It is also data source agnostic beyond MEDITECH, supporting connections to relational databases and delimited text files.
Yes. OneLink uses current security APIs for all Azure communications. Data is encrypted during transmission and at rest. The platform uses an outbound-only architecture, meaning no inbound connections are made to your MEDITECH environment.
Acmeware can have OneLink operational in as little as one day.
Typical data latency from source to destination is two minutes or less.
OneLink retrieves selected data from your Data Repository on a continuous schedule, transforms it into the format the vendor needs (JSON, HL7, flat file, or other), and delivers it to the vendor's system via Azure Service Bus. The entire process is automated and runs 24/7.
OneLink is Acmeware's cloud-based data integration platform that connects your MEDITECH Data Repository to third-party vendor systems. It delivers automated, secure data exchange through Microsoft Azure Service Bus with minimal setup and operational overhead.
We provide extensive support, but quality reporting is a collaborative process. There are elements that require clinical involvement from your team. Acmeware handles the technical configuration, data management, mapping, and validation while working closely with your clinicians and quality managers to ensure everything aligns with your clinical workflows.
CMS updates measure specifications, retires old measures, introduces new ones, and adjusts value set definitions on an annual cycle. Staying current requires continuous attention to both the regulatory changes and the corresponding MEDITECH configuration updates.
Nomenclature mapping connects your hospital's local clinical terminology to the standardized code sets (ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm) that quality measures depend on. When mappings are correct and current, your quality scores reflect actual clinical performance. When they're outdated, your scores suffer for reasons that have nothing to do with care quality.
Since 2013. Our quality team has worked with hospitals across every MEDITECH platform generation.
We provide end-to-end quality reporting support including Quality Vantage configuration, eCQM management, chart abstraction support, nomenclature mapping, data validation, MIPS reporting, and submission support.
Yes. Our staff augmentation model is built for exactly this scenario. We take over routine reporting and DR support so your internal team can focus on the Expanse transition.
Knowledge transfer is built into how we work. As our consultants work alongside your team, they share what they know. We also offer discounted training classes and provide documentation so institutional knowledge stays with your organization.
Staff augmentation places experienced MEDITECH consultants directly into your hospital's IT workflow. We scale to fit your needs, from a few hours per week to multiple full-time equivalents, covering reporting, DR support, data integration, and more.
Many Acmeware clients maintain legacy DR environments for years after conversion to meet ongoing requirements for patient record requests, regulatory audits, legal discovery, and historical reporting.
Your DR remains a valuable resource for historical reporting, data retrieval, and regulatory compliance. Acmeware provides end-of-service optimization to ensure your DR is fully up to date after the last MEDITECH application is retired, with databases optimized for long-term historical data retrieval.
Yes. We support the full MEDITECH data lifecycle during and after an EHR conversion, including ad-hoc reporting, historical data exports, data interface management, and long-term legacy Data Repository maintenance.
Yes. We offer a no-cost evaluation where our team reviews your report catalog to define the scope and resources required to upgrade your reports to the Expanse platform.
OneTrac is Acmeware's proprietary cloud-based report catalog and project management tool built specifically for Expanse migrations. It provides real-time visibility into inventory, assignments, platform recommendations, and progress for your entire report migration.
Over 1,000 reports across dozens of Expanse conversions.
Every existing NPR-based report needs to be inventoried, evaluated, and rewritten for Data Repository, Report Designer, or Business and Clinical Analytics. Existing DR reports also need schema mapping updates for the Expanse database structure.
Routine monitoring of background jobs and system logs, performance optimization, storage management, priority pack testing and deployment, MEDITECH Circle incident management, and configuration governance aligned with MEDITECH best practices.
Not if you work with Acmeware. Our DBA services provide dedicated, expert-level administration of your DR and SQL Server environment, covering monitoring, optimization, maintenance, and MEDITECH Circle support.
The DR Health Assessment is a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of your SQL Server and Data Repository environment. It covers storage capacity, index maintenance, tempdb configuration, SQL Server Agent jobs, security, and overall system health, with prioritized recommendations.
We work with HL7, XML, ANSI, JSON, flat file, and proprietary vendor formats.
We have built integrations with vendors including Wellpartner, Macro Helix, Verity Solutions, TransUnion, OneMnet Health, Chartis Group, McKesson, Strata Decision, Press Ganey, NRC Health, ADP, UKG (Kronos), and many others.
We design, build, and manage automated data interfaces between your MEDITECH Data Repository and external systems using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). This includes 340B, revenue cycle, cost accounting, clinical, HR, and patient satisfaction integrations.
We build reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, and native Data Repository tools. We maximize the Microsoft platform your hospital already has.
Yes. We can serve as your primary reporting resource, complement your existing team during high-volume periods, or deliver targeted builds for specific departmental needs.
Turnaround depends on complexity, but our library of existing reports means we're rarely starting from scratch. Many requests can leverage existing templates that significantly reduce development time.
We build custom Data Repository reports across every major hospital function: clinical, financial, operational, compliance, and executive. Our library includes thousands of reports spanning every MEDITECH platform from MAGIC through Expanse.
